A Reminder of Who I Am & Where I'm Going

Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt

My name is Jon and I go by the pseudonym of Zyvr.

I’m an entrepreneur.

I build businesses and do some contracting on the side.

Outside of that, I love the world of crypto. I dabble with NFTs and trade crypto here and there.

One of my goals right now is to stay disciplined and work hard to preserve this dream of mine not having to work a traditional job. I also love the idea of being able to work anywhere in the world with just a laptop. So far it’s been working out for just over a year now (crazy, I know lol). I realize that this journey isn’t for everyone, nor will it look the same for anyone.

To unwind, I like to connect with others on social media, try and learn something (like… trading at the moment), and play Brawl Stars with the one who keeps me in check.

Here’s a list of what I do:

- I’m building an online store(s) (selling crypto-themed greeting cards)

- I do contract work (involves building booths, pretty much general labour)

- I’m invested (more like degenerate gambling lol) in some crypto and NFTs

- I host a virtual coworking space on Discord (acts as a community where like-minds can connect, learn, & grow alongside each other)

My Story

I don’t know, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. It all kicked off in high-school when I sold my first pair of knockoff apple earphones. Well, actually it all started from trading virtual in-game items in the free market of MapleStory throughout my elementary days (haha). Anyway, the next pivotal moment for me was watching my two best friends build up their renovation business. This led me to wanting build a business of my own too! Stuck, I didn’t really know what type of business to build. All I knew was that I didn’t want to go to school for it. Though, there’s nothing wrong with receiving an education through traditional methods, I was just stubborn at the time. My intentions were only to learn how to operate a business. Despite being arguably the last thing you would ever think of me doing, I chose junk removal. Yes, you read that correct. An OCD clean freak who decided he was going to do junk removal as his first business. I chose this because of how simple the concept was. My biggest takeaway was how easy it was to up and start a business. The hard part was maintaining it of course. But I mean, most people work just as hard (sometimes? haha) maintaining somebody else’s company, right? While I was working a full time job at the time, I posted ads for weekend work and quickly decided that it could really easily become something worth investing more time in, as in, it’s time to quit my job (haha!). I was younger, I was motivated, and the risk:reward ratio to me at the time was so worth it (and I’ll continue to say this over and over again). Because in the worst case scenario, I can just go back to working a regular job for the rest of my life and still be able to live a decent lifestyle. I eventually ended up transitioning out of that business though. I don’t regret any of it a single bit. I love how that was apart of my journey, I gained invaluable wisdom and experience from it for sure. Now fast forward to where I am today, it’s the same story. Quit my job and here I am, somehow surviving for over a year plus. I sure have got a lot to be grateful for. I know it’s not over yet. Like I mentioned in the beginning, the motto is still work hard and stay disciplined. Smooth seas never made a skillful sailor.

A lot has definitely happened in-between but I’ll have to save that for another time.

Thanks for reading, ‘til next time. Cheers!
